Hello all! I wanted to write a quick update on my 2021 season. Unfortunately, I am not participating in this weekend’s USF2000 triple header at New Jersey Motorsports Park because of a change in our available budget. Covid has significantly impacted revenue for one of our partners, so they were not able (understandably) to continue the partnership. We were given as much notice as possible but ran out of time to find enough new partnership support to complete the entire season. While it’s very disappointing not being able to race this weekend, I don’t think our season is over. There is one more event from October 1-3 at Mid Ohio to make up for the canceled Toronto weekend. It also includes Indy Pro 2000 and Indy Lights and the championships will be decided in all three series. We are pretty optimistic we will have the budget for the doubleheader weekend in time. I really want the chance to go back to Mid-Ohio again this year after showing we had the pace to do well in the July event. If we can put it all together, I know we are capable of a very good result. ![]() The focus for 2021 has always been to learn the car, tracks and what it takes to have a chance to compete for wins and a championship in 2022. In some ways, we are starting 2022 now. I want to finish this season strong with some momentum, and get started with testing to prepare for next year in USF2000. All of this year’s championship contenders are in their 2nd or 3rd season. First up for the offseason is The Chris Griffis Memorial Test in late October at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is a great opportunity to keep momentum rolling and take the next step in my development. My track time there was limited because of mechanical issues, so I can still learn more at one of the few testing opportunities at a track on the schedule. It’s also always cool to get in a car at IMS! From a business perspective, we have had good conversations about adding partners for next year. For current partners, we look forward to talking with you soon about working together in 2022! In the short term, we are trying to welcome a new partner (or partners) to make sure I can do the offseason testing needed. There will be some opportunities for major branding at the Mid Ohio weekend the first weekend of October and the IMS test at the end of October – including tours at IMS with my Dad and more! Please spread the word or pass along any ideas. With the experience I have gained this year, I am very excited to try and put it all together for a good result. For the first time at the Mid Ohio event, I will be returning to the same track in a USF2000 car. And, it’s a track I was quick at the last time. I can’t wait to get back in the car! ![]() Also, I want to thank everyone who supported the Brickyard Prelude a couple of weeks ago to benefit the Survivors of Violence Foundation at Prime 47 in downtown Indy. Several friends and partners attended and over $20,000 was raised to help provide victims of domestic violence with reconstructive surgery. Also, thank you to Brent Cox and our accounting firm Cox, Beckman, Goss & Company, Dr. Chernoff and Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery, and Brad Shaffer at Prime 47 for the work they put into the event and their support. While we wait to get on track again, I’ll continue coaching at the kart track and it looks like have my first chance to coach drivers in cars preparing for the SCCA runoffs – and start college at UINDY on Monday! Thanks to all of you who have supported my career so far! Stay Fast! Jackson |
