It’s almost May! Time for burgers and racing!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to check in with an update on our racing schedule and some details on this year’s Burger Bash. Again this year the Burger Bash will be on Monday to kick off race week (May 20th) and will support cancer research at the Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are doing some cool new things this year like the Bricks to Beat Cancer tribute wall. If you’d like recognize a patient, physician or caregiver you know who is in the race to beat cancer, or honor the memory of someone who valiantly ran a race to beat cancer,  simply fill out the form here and see it displayed on the tribute wall at the Burger Bash.

Another thing that is new is our location! This year’s Burger Bash is at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, just outside Gate 1 at the roundabout at 16th and Crawfordsville.

And, we are happy to share that it’s now the Burger Bash delivered by ClusterTruck!  The event is still free, but our Burger Bash sponsors and individual VIP ticket holders will have access to a great menu of ClusterTruck options along with complimentary drinks. If you’re not familiar with ClusterTruck— I asked them for a good description and they described themselves as “Where food truck attitude meets world-changing technology. Enjoy faster delivery, better food, and an experience worthy of the people. They deliver chef-made, on-demand meals crafted from only the highest quality ingredients. With over 100 customizable options, their diverse menu satisfies every appetite, delivering real food—hot and fresh—right to your curb.”  All I know is the food is really, really good!

Everyone who comes to the Burger Bash can order from the ClusterTruck menu and have it delivered to the Burger Bash. So plan to come and order a ClusterTruck burger for dinner!

And I know which burger you should order….  ClusterTruck has created (with my input) the “Jackson Lee” burger.  20% of the cost will be donated to the IU Simon Cancer Center until race day (May 26).  There is also a burger for Indy 500 driver Conor Daly and Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan.  All can be customized so you should check them out and plan to have a burger between now and the race.  You can order here in select areas (downtown, Broad Ripple, Castleton and much of Hamilton County).

There are still VIP tickets for sale and corporate sponsorship opportunities with branding and publicity available.  Please let us know (and share with your friends) if you have interest.  We expect quite a few Indy 500 drivers and a few of the NBC announcers to join us.  Again, it’s free (bring a chair) but VIP tickets are still available here for $125 each if you’d like free food, drinks, and guaranteed close seating.

As for my racing schedule, next up is Mid Ohio June 7th-9th with Czabok-Simpson in the Porsche GT4 in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.  This will be a 4-hour race with two other teammates and it’s the feature race of the weekend on Sunday.  We are trying to find some extra budget to also add in the VP Challenge races at Mid Ohio for extra seat time and to help develop the car (it’s the same GT4 car as Michelin Pilot).  That’s the series I ran at Daytona and St Petersburg (finishing 2nd twice) and am currently in P3 out of 26 in the championship points race.

After that, I’m confirmed for Michelin Pilot Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in July, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September and Road Atlanta in October with the opportunity to add more!

In the meantime, I’ll be busy coaching in karts and cars, hopefully testing the Porsche a bit and also hosting our partners in May at IMS!  I hope to see many of you soon!

Stay Fast,
