It’s time to get back in the car!

It is finally time for me to get back behind the wheel of a race car! It’s been 3 months (not including a few laps during a team test at Putnam Park last week to knock off the rust) since the last time I’ve driven a race car. And what better place to get back at it than at the Mid Ohio Sports-Car Course.

This weekend will be the O’Reilly Auto Parts 4 hours of Mid Ohio in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series. It will be, by far, the longest race I have ever competed in. I will be sharing the car with two teammates. But, I will still likely need to complete the longest stint in my career. I am looking forward to the challenge and have spent the past few weeks building my mental endurance up on the sim and working to best prepare myself.

Mid Ohio has been a great track for me in the past. I have won in both the Lucas Oil Formula Car Championship and the FRP F1600 championship as well as recorded fastest lap and other strong finishes in the USF Pro Championships. So I can’t wait to get back.

I will once again be piloting a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS with Czabok-Simpson Motorsport, but this time I will be driving the #67 car with Sebastian Carazo and Nikita Lastochkin as my teammates.  If you’re keeping track – it’s my 4th number of the year (#66, #82 and #2)! This will be my second Michelin Pilot race, the top support series in IMSA.  Our new team is getting better each event and this will be a good test. There are 24 cars in our GS class, including several drivers from the top IMSA WeatherTech class, and 16 more cars in the TCR class. So, it will be a busy track!

We’ll have a practice session on Friday afternoon and another on Saturday morning before qualifying.  If you are coming to the race, there is an autograph session on Sunday at 10am in the paddock at each team location and the grid is open to all fans before the race. Our race is the feature race of the weekend and will air live on Peacock this Sunday the 9th at 12:30ET and then again June 15th on CNBC at 1:00 ET.

As always thanks for the support!

Stay Fast,

Jackson
