During our break from formula cars, we’ve been back at New Castle Motorsports Park racing go-karts. We’ve had some success, but we’ve also been on the wrong end of things too. KRA #3 on Mother’s Day was a miserable and wet morning. And, while I would have loved to bring home a win for my Mom on that day, it didn’t happen. After the rain stopped, we were the first to go to slicks. (Sometimes you gotta take risks. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t.) Unfortunatley, the rain came back right after the race started and we limped around till we couldn’t anymore. I came home with a DNF in Senior. In TaG lite, things were better and we came home in 4th. It was a cold, wet day- but you know what they say- any day at the track is a good day!
At KRA #4, we really did much better, bringing home a pair of 2nd place finishes.
Formula Car racing is up next at VIRginia International Raceway in June. Can’t wait! I am not sure when I’ll be back in the kart because I am juggling some travel baseball commitments for the next two months. Keep checking back here on our schedule page to see when I’ll be back at NCMP.
Thanks for checking in!
